What are cookies?

I use two types of cookies in my site: "session cookies" and "persistent cookies". Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain on your device until you leave my site. A persistent cookie remains on your device for much longer or until you manually delete it (how long the cookie remains on your device will depend on the duration or "lifetime" of the specific cookie and your browser settings).

Necessary cookies
These cookies are essential to make this site work correctly and keep it secure. They include security cookies from Cloudflare, which protects the site, and a cookie that remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies. They are always on, because the site can’t work properly without them, and they don’t identify you as an individual.
Performance cookies
These cookies help me understand how people use my site so I can improve it. I use two tools:

Microsoft Clarity shows me how visitors use the site, through heatmaps and session recordings of clicks, scrolling and movement around each page. Clarity is set to hide anything you type into forms.

HubSpot records which pages you visit. If you later fill in a form on my site, HubSpot links those visits to the details you gave, so I can see how people find my services.
These cookies are only set if you accept them through the cookie banner. If you decline, neither tool sets cookies.
Targeting Cookies
These cookies are used to deliver content that is more relevant to you and your interests. They may be used to deliver specific advertising to you (e.g. on Facebook) or to limit the number of times you see an advert. They also help me measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
